I was supposed to have a third DragonCon blog on costuming dos and don'ts, complete with photos and/or diagrams, but I failed. So I will just have to make it up to all of you. (Here's the part where I set myself up to fail again! Ha Ha!) Instead of doing an after Con synopses, I'm going to work on a dos and don'ts for the 2010 Con season complete with fashion/cos-play trends.
2009 ended in great joy for The Elysian Chronicles industry. On November 7th, 2009, in Naples, Florida, the official release of book 2, Out of the Shadows, was a great success.
I drove over and down for my first ever visit to Naples just for the occasion. It's a beautiful Gulf city with awesome shopping and a cool pier that stretches far out over the water with plenty of people fishing. There were even dolphins swimming close by.
I got to meet MB's family, who treated me like I was part of theirs, and many of the inspirations for all sorts of characters. MB and I made a mini vacation out of the visit by shopping, sightseeing and, of course, more shopping. We even drove 3 hours to Orlando and spent a day in Epcot.
I think its been 20 years since the last time I had been in any Disney venue. She was ecstatic to show me the Norway area where more of her inspiration comes from.

Oh, I had the BEST lodging for the week. MB's family set me up with a huge Winnebago all to myself. It was like having my own apartment for the week. It was truly and awesome trip.
After Naples, it was all family time. Time to celebrate the holiday season and stuff myself silly with all the good food. And now that it's 2010... MB and I are overdue for a GIRLS WEEKEND!!!
